What’s next

Soon, right after Kickstarter finishes processing everybody’s funding, we’ll send you a Backerkit survey to collect the information we need to fulfill your reward.

Then we’ll keep you regularly updated on our progress: the manuscript of the Core Book is already finished, so our next steps are a final revision, editing, and layout, before finally sending the books to print.

Greetings, valiant heroes united Against the Darkmaster!

We stand together now, in these final hours of our fight. Thanks to your efforts, we've gathered over 200% of our initial goal. We are speechless and can't thank you enough for this!

As we approach the final rush of the campaign, we turn our gaze to the farthest North, where the Citadel Beyond the North Wind lies. What terrors lurk in the frosty mists? What secret powers lie beyond its ramparts? 

The Citadel Beyond the North Wind, a sword & sorcery Adventure Module by Xoth Publishing, written by renowned author's Morten Braten, meets the milieu and rules of Against the Darkmaster in this officially licensed adaptation!

•  Complete stats conversion and rules adaptation for running the adventure with Against the Darkmaster's rules.
• Notes on how to drop the adventure into Against the Darkmaster's milieu and mood - turning it into a Heavy Metal Epic Saga!

Valiant heroes, less than 72 hours remaining to the end of the campaign, and we’ve got some great announcements for you!

Early Access PDF

Many of you asked about this, so we’re very happy to announce that Backers from the Adventurer level up will receive an Early Access PDF copy of the Core Book!

What does that mean? Basically, shortly after the end of the editing phase, but before finalizing the layout, we’ll send you a link to an art-free digital copy of the rules. So you’ll get to try the game straight away, much before the final version will be actually released!

New Add-On

A great fan-favorite, our official Against the Darkmaster dice bags will be making a special comeback to celebrate the end of the campaign.

These are 6.5”x8.5” high-quality soft microfiber dice bags, imprinted with the classic Against the Darkmaster logo and Quickstart cover design.

We’ll be producing a limited batch just for the Kickstarter, so get them while you still can! You can add them to your pledge using the Manage your Pledge button to increase your pledge amount by 22.50$, or select them as an Add-On later when you’ll receive our Backerkit survey.

Managing Your Pledge

We’ll use Backerkit as a pledge manager for the campaign, which means that you’ll receive a survey that will help us get all the information we need to manage your pledge shortly after the end of the campaign.

You don’t need to do anything just now, we’ll send you an email after the campaign, as soon as the survey is ready to go.

Fourth Stretch Goal Unlocked

We’ve hit 200% of our funding goal today, unlocking our fourth Stretch Goal. Meaning that the Core Book will include a short fiction written by fantasy author and game designer Paul Kidd, introducing the world of Against the Darkmaster!

Powered by Open00

Some of you asked us about licensing and about the “Powered by Open00” logo appearing on the Quickstart Rules.

Since we started working on this project, our intention has always been that of making Against the Darkmaster an “open” game. In other words, we think that publishing and distributing your own creations for the system powering Against the Darkmaster (the Open00 system) should be as hassle-free as possible.

In the past, we’ve often talked about having an open license that would let anyone create and sell their own Open00 material without having to ask our permission.

We still think this is the best option, but we’ll need some legal counseling for that, so it will have to wait until the books are done.

Right now we want to focus just on the Kickstarter and on giving you the most Epic RPG handbook you’ll ever see!
