Progress Update - Custom Character Illustration Guidelines Sent

Progresses

Work on layout and editing is progressing steadily. We’d like to thank all of you who stopped by our forums to report typos and leave their feedback on the Early Access document. You’re doing a great work and your help is really appreciated!

The manuscript of The Cauldron - the haunting fantasy horror adventure unlocked as one of our Stretch Goals - has been delivered and is now in queue for final editing and layout.

The Citadel Beyond the North Wind conversion is taking slightly more time, but keep in mind that this is basically a whole campaign, including more than 40 new opponents and guidelines to adapt Against the Darkmaster to the Sword & Sorcery genre.

Guidelines for Champion and Chosen One Backers

Backer of the Champion and Chosen One levels should have received our guidelines for commissioning their custom character illustration. If you backed at one of these two levels and haven’t received them, please contact us as soon as possible!

New Adventure

Last but not least, we’ve got a whole new adventure coming! We missed The Silence of Dawnfell Stretch Goal during the campaign, but Scott Malthouse’s idea was just too good to pass, so we’ve decided to expand it to a full stand-alone module that will be released later this year!

Early Access PDF incoming!

Welcome back, mighty heroes, we’ve got some great news for you!

Early Access

The first version of the Early Access document is finally ready. Backers of Adventurer level or higher should soon receive an email with a link to download the file (remember to check your Spam folder if you don’t see it).

Please note that the file you’ll receive is NOT the final version of the Against the Darkmaster Core Book.

It’s an unedited, art-free, “Early Access” draft, intended as a preview of the rules.

You’ll find typos and errors that will be corrected in the final version of the Core Book. Also, keep in mind that the wording of some rules and paragraphs may change during the editing process.

For these reasons, the final look, layout, and text of the rules will end up being quite different from the one presented in the Early Access version.

Please don’t post your feedback here on Kickstarter or on social media, as your post is likely to get buried under all the other comments and we won’t be able to see it!

General Progress

Everything seems to be on schedule for now. As mentioned above, editing has already begun, and after the initial revision of the manuscript, we’ve started working on the final layout.

We’ve also received the first draft of “The Cauldron” adventure, and are about halfway through the conversion of the “Citadel Beyond the North Wind”!

That’s it for now, but don’t let your guard down, we may have a few surprises coming up quite soon!

By popular demand, we've added the PDF version of the Core Book to our Backerkit Store. As usual, you can reach it either by clicking the “Preorder now!” on top of our Kickstarter page or through the following link: https://vsdarkmaster.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

Please note that every physical copy of the Core Book also comes with a free PDF version of the book. So, there's no need to add the PDF to your preorder if you've already selected the physical Core Book!

Early Access Document Progresses

We're also making good progress with the Early Access document. Nik is working hard on the layout of the tables, and once that is done we're good to go. This means that backers should receive a link to the first "unedited" Early Access document soon!

Surveys sent, Late Pledge available

Greetings heroes!

Everyone should have received their Backerkit survey by now. If you still haven’t seen it, check your spam folder, the agents of the Darkmaster may have conspired to hide it there with their dark magic.

Champion and Chosen One level Backers will soon receive a separate form in which our artists will collect all the information we need to prepare their custom character portrait.

Taxes Fumble

Seems we fumbled our roll when preparing the survey, as some of you reported that taxes were added to their bill when they tried to check out. We have fixed this, so if you run into this problem check your pledge manager again, the extra taxes should be gone now.

Late Pledge

Heroes who missed the Kickstarter can now join the fight Against the Darkmaster at our Backerkit Store, either by clicking the “Preorder now!” on top of our Kickstarter page or by visiting this address: https://vsdarkmaster.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

BackerKit surveys are coming!

Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://vsdarkmaster.backerkit.com/.

If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact support at https://vsdarkmaster.backerkit.com/faq#contact-us.
